Design exhibition of Komposter (nejaaka + Luka Umek)
22. September - 10. November 2011
The recently formed collective Komposter (www.komposter.si) consists of a trio of designers - the nejaaka duo (Akaša Bojić and Neja Engelsberger) and Luka Umek. All three graduated in 2008 from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, where they specialised in visual communication.
They work in the broad field of graphic design and illustration, and have found a common path in transcending the boundaries of traditional graphic design, since to a large extent their work encompasses mobile design: audiovisual messages, animations, video projections, promotional videos, title sequences and VJ appearances at concerts and theatrical/dance performances.
Their credits in the field of mobile design include video projections for European and world tours by industrial music group Laibach and the official state celebrations on the Day of Independence and Unity (2009 and 2010), projections for theatrical and dance productions (Iztok Kovač, Vinko Möderndorfer, Hanna Preuss, Haris Pašović, Snježana Premuš, Vito Taufer, etc.), title sequences for television programmes (Studio City, Ugriznimo znanost, Tranzistor, Prisluhnimo tišini, etc.) and more than 30 title sequences for films (for directors such as Sašo Podgoršek, Miran Zupanič, Matevž Luzar, etc.). They are permanent collaborators with the dance company En-Knap and the Španski Borci Cultural Centre. They have already appeared at a total of more than 30 solo or group exhibitions, presentations and appearances at home and abroad.
This exhibition presents graphics composed from selected motifs from mobile works realised by the artists.
