History of the NLB Gallery Avla

NLB Gallery Avla has been in existence since 1971 when the TR2 skyscraper was constructed at 2 Trg republike in Ljubljana. For the first five years, the exhibition space covered the area on the right side of the entrance to the Bank, while in 1976 it was moved to the left of the entrance as the Bank's business started to expand. In addition to the exhibitions in the Avla Gallery, from 1971 to 1986 the Bank organised several exhibitions of Slovenian and Yugoslav artists on the premises of the Bank's representative offices or other banks abroad: in Frankfurt, Zürich, Gorizia, Trieste, Vienna, to mention just a few.
